Since the beginning of March the new coronavirus has been progressively spreading throughout the region of Southern and Eastern Europe, as well as worldwide. It is evident that the spread of this virus is taking place not only in connection with a history of travel abroad, but also here within the community, among citizens of the Czech Republic. In this situation we wish to assure you that the services of our clinic remain available to you within the full scope, including both individual specialisations and our 24 our call service. We are in direct contact with the regional hygiene service, and according to the current epidemiological situation we are arranging samples to test for SARS-CoV-2 at a certified centre.
If you feel any of the symptoms of this viral pathology such as a dry cough, rapid rise in temperature or joint and muscle pain, contact our reception, our call service or your personal doctor, and following a consultation on your condition of health we will recommend a further course of action for you.
In the case that you have already arranged an appointment for a regular preventive check-up or monitoring of a chronic illness which is stabilised, we recommend that you contact our reception, or your personal doctor or specialist, and postpone this visit to our clinic. On the other hand, we recommend that you do not postpone examinations in the case of more serious chronic conditions, acute illnesses or vaccinations for children. Nevertheless, in the present situation it is appropriate to make maximum use of remote means of communication with the doctors and other staff of our healthcare facility. Our doctors are prepared to provide consultation on your condition of health, thanks to complete electronic healthcare documentation available online they are more easily able to decide upon a further procedure, and in the case that it is not necessary for you to visit in person they can send you an e-Prescription or an e-doctor's certificate.
A protective face mask is available for clients who come in person to the Program Health Plus clinic for the purpose of examination. The clinic has taken clear and effective hygiene and organisational measures for cases of examining patients with suspected COVID-19 infection, and we have designated separate areas for these purposes. If you are coming to our clinic on the basis of a prior telephone consultation with a personal doctor with suspicion of COVID-19 infection, or if you have typical clinical symptoms of the virus, drive directly to our car park in front of the clinic, press the bell and the receptionist will admit you to the car park. Remain in your car, and our healthcare staff will come to collect you from the car park and take you to the prepared outpatient department.
Testing of clients without symptoms remains a problem, and due to the long waiting times at testing locations we recommend that you consult us with regard to such a request, and we will advise you on how to proceed in the current situation.

MEASURES AGAINST THE RISK OF INFECTION WITH CORONAVIRUS
Infection with the coronavirus is usually manifested in a fever, dry cough, breathlessness and respiratory problems. Serious infections may cause inflammation of the lungs and may also threaten other organs. International and Czech authorities are implementing special measures against the spread of the coronavirus, and we recommend that you abide by these measures because they will lead to a substantial reduction of the spread of the virus within the population.
The most essential preventive measure is to avoid close contact with people who manifest symptoms of the disease, accompanied by coughing or sneezing. It is important to ensure increased hygiene through frequent washing of hands with soap and warm water, although only disinfectant solutions or gels on a basis of minimum 70% alcohol are fully virostatic. Like other viral diseases, the coronavirus spreads via droplets of saliva or contact with objects from an infected person. The incubation period of the virus is 2–14 days.
MEASURES AGAINST THE RISK OF ILLNESS WITH CORONAVIRUS
Despite intensive research worldwide, so far we understand the illness only in part. It is nonetheless clear that patients of higher age and those with other serious illnesses, in particular cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, are most at risk. In simple terms it is possible to say that a whole spectrum of complaints in connection with metabolic syndrome (higher body weight, high blood pressure and incipient diabetes) is typical in those who have become seriously ill with COVID-19 infection. Your individual personal doctors are analysing your comprehensive electronic documentation, and those of you who are most at risk will be actively contacted in order for us to assess your present condition of health and to recommend such measures for you in order to ensure that your situation is maximally stabilised.
